How the MBBR Process Works

Moving bed biofilm reactors keep carrier media in suspension inside an aeration tank. Wastewater passes through staged biological treatment; biomass grows on the media, helping stabilise performance and reduce footprint.

Request Sizing Review

Influent equalisation

Balances peak flows and prepares the stream for stable treatment.

Aeration and biofilm contact

Oxygen and carrier media support attached-growth biology for BOD and COD reduction.

Clarification and discharge

Separated solids are returned or wasted according to the process configuration.
